We got Lady A'd

Sunday, we drove to Augusta to see Hillary and Lady Antebellum in concert. It was the 1st time we had seem them perform live and we loved it. When we first got there Hillary took us on their tour bus and the boys were amazed. They couldn't believe that they slept on the bus, and ate, and even used the bathroom. They of course had to try it out. Then they met Charles, Dave, and Slim and were star struck. They couldn't take their eyes off of them and followed them around everywhere. It was a great show and we can't wait to see them again. Thank you so much Hillary for entertaining us. I know it gets busy sometimes. We enjoyed it so much and we are SOOOOO proud of you. Their album, which came out April 15th (if you haven't gotten your copy you need to go get it), was #1 on the billboard country charts last week. How exciting is that? On the bus - Hillary is the only girl with about 9 guys (poor thing).

The kids had a great time. It was a perfect concert for families.

We had some time to kill before the show started and the boys and I went for a walk. They found this grassy hill and just had to roll down it (1000 times).

This position does not look very comfortable.

Cale's in heaven!!!

What a great day!

Elloree Porkfest

This weekend we went to the barbecue cookoff in Elloree. The boys and I went Friday night to help out while Natalie stayed home with Daddy. The boys had a great time playing on the playground, especially when it got dark. They thought it was so neat they they could swing in the dark. Daddy Daddy (Flavor Masters) won the popular vote in the "Anything But Pork" for his famous "Shrimp Nasty." We all went back Sat. for the barbecue where Flavor Masters won the popular vote and came in 5th in the judging. Congrats Flavor Masters!

It's great to be siblings!

Natalie was sitting by the boys on the couch and putting her head on their shoulders and getting really close to their faces and being really sweet. The boys thought it was so funny. They love it that Natalie interacts with them now and they really love it when she laughs at them and when they can get her to be happy when she's fussy. They are great big brothers!

My 1st pigtails!

I put Natalie's hair in pigtails the other day (sorta). She doesn't quite have enough hair but it was cute anyway. My little girl is growing up too fast. I just realized that I didn't even put on here that she is now crawling and cruising everywhere. I don't think it will be long before she is a walker. I'm going to see it will probably be before she turns 1. She actually took 3 or 4 steps between me and Bart (Bart and I?) tonight. I don't want her to grow up too fast but I am looking forward to her being able to hold my hand and walk. My arms are getting really tired.

Adventures of play group

Cale, Ryan, Natalie, Elizabeth Allen, Lowndes, Brady, Ladson, Fowler, and Madelyn. Will was with us too but opted out on the photo shoot.

Taking care of their sis. (or making her cry?)

Every week a group of us get together for play group. Normally we go to each other's houses to play but it was a beautiful day so we went to Edisto Gardens to feed the ducks and play on the playground. We had a great time together. We even ordered pizza as a special treat for lunch.

Lesson learned- the playground is a LONG walk from the duck pond, with no sidewalk. Do not try to walk with 7 little ones along the road. Thanks AMW for shuttling us back to our cars at the end of our day.

Feeding the ducks, fish, and turtles. They certainly had enough bread to eat this day.

Maddy and Nattie. Madelyn is a month older than Natalie. BFF
The girls! Elizabeth Allen, Madelyn, and Natalie
Going on a bear hunt - aparently their was a bear in this tall grass and the boys had a great time running from him.

Being with cousins

The children in our family are all very close in age.

Ryan and Cale - 3 - June 16th, 2004
Thomas - 2 - Oct. 15, 2005
Sarah - 15 months - Jan. 2, 2007
Natalie - 10 months - June 12, 2007

They play great together. I am amazed everytime they are together at how well they all get along. I hope it stays that way forever.

As you can see by their faces. They all love spaghetti.
Sarah giving Natalie some love.
Fishing at the Rolands. Cale caught a fish but the others lost interest real quick.

Cale's trout. We ate him for supper and he was delicious.

Sarah is checking the fish out. She is not afraid of anything.

Answered Prayers

My grandmother gave us a very big scare the Saturday before Easter. She was having chest pains so they called the ambulance and decided to take her to the hospital to check her out. Turns out she had had a heart attack at some point the day before. They did a heart cath which was risky in itself and found out that her heart was a mess. Only 15% of her heart was working and her heart rate was in the 30's. Things were not looking good for her and the doctors were not giving us much hope. Her kidneys were not working properly because the heart was not pumping enough blood to them and she couldn't hold any food or liquid down. Then by the grace of God on Tuesday her heart rate started going back up, she started eating and it stayed down and her kidneys started working fine. Yesterday, she came home from the hospital and seems to be doing just fine. She is still very weak and short of breath but according to how she was last week at this time she is doing remarkably well. What an awesome God we have! She is now back home with Pop and I know they are very happy to be together again.

Happy Easter!!!

We started our Easter morning by sleeping late and missing Sunrise Service (oops!) I was really sad we missed it because it is always one of my favorite things about Easter morning. When we finally did get up the boys ran into the living room to see if the Easter Bunny had come and he did. They were very excited. Natalie was excited too of course. We went to church and then we went to Harleyville to eat lunch with Pappy and Grandmama Dixie where the Easter Bunny had also brought things for the kids to Granny's house. That afternoon we went to Summerville to celebrate Owen's 4th birthday. We had a great day.

Cale is in one of his "I AM NOT GOING TO SMILE" moods.
