I obviously don't know how to do this right because I can't get it to turn the right way and my camera doesn't have flash when it's in video mode but it you look hard and cock your head to the side you can see that Natalie is walking. For a while now she has been walking back and forth between me and Bart but everyday she is getting a little braver. Yesterday the boys were racing back to their room and she went walking down the hall right after them just laughing and screaming. She was so proud of herself and I, of course, am very proud of her too. Go Natalie!!!

Going on a boat ride
We have been wanting to take the kids out in the boat but it seems like every time we plan it there have been hurricane force winds. Finally, Sunday we had a beautiful day so we headed for the lake. The boys loved it. They were all smiles the whole time. The especially loved driving the boat althought they need to work a little on their driving skills. We made many circles in the lake becuase they turned the wheel a little too hard. Thanks Nina and Daddy Daddy for a fun experience.

Natalie sat very still when the boat was going fast. I think it totally relaxed her.

Natalie was so relaxed she went right to sleep.
Mama's little helper
Cale LOVES to help me do everything. He is always asking if he can help me do things like wash the dishes and wash and fold clothes. I only hope it stays that way. Today he wanted to help feed Natalie. Other than a few misses of her mouth I thought he did a pretty good job and Natalie is always happy to have a meal no matter who feeds her. I think that's pretty easy to see.
a little closer please
i'm ready
thank you Bubba
How can you miss that mouth?

How can you miss that mouth?Summer haircuts
Bart decided to give the boys a haircut (or take a haircut as they would say). It was quite an opertion.

I tried to catch Bart's concentrating face. It must really help to have that tongue sticking out.

I think the final outcome is very cute. Of course, for some reason I didn't take a final picture. I think it was probably because of this little girl.

Testing Mama's Patience
So we were on our way to play group the other day and I was excited because we were actually going to be somewhat on time. I put my pocket book, diaper bag, and kids in the car and then went to get my keys (which are supposed to be in pocket book) and realized they weren't in there. I went to go back in the house to get them and realized that the door was locked. GREAT!!! To give myself some credit Bart had driven my car last so that's why my keys weren't in their usual spot and he had locked the door but had not shut it good so I didn't realize the door was locked. (So I blame this whole thing on Bart) I walked around the house just to see if for some reason the other doors might be unlocked - no such luck. I called Bart to see if he had any ideas AND to see if I could make him feel a little bit guilty maybe. He had no ideas though. Then I tried the windows on the back porch and figured out that they weren't locked they were just painted shut so I went to the shop to get a screwdriver and hammer to pry the window open. The whole time this is happening the kids are in the car - Natalie is fussing and the boys are constantly asking questions "What are you doing Mama?" " Why - Why - Why?" Finally I just had to shut the car door to get some peace and quiet. I got the window open and thought it would be much easier to put one of the boys through the window than me crawling through so Cale was closest so I slipped him right in. No problem right? I'll be in the house in no time. WRONG!!! Cale decided that he didn't want to unlock the door that was 2 steps away from him. He wanted Ryan to do it. I said very calm but stern, "Cale, unlock the door now please."
"No, I want Ryan to do it""CALE"
Then he turns around, goes in the house and shuts the door. I can see him standing in the house with his back turned to me just standing there.
UUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH
I had to get Ryan out of the car, put him through the window, where he quickly opened up the door and we were in. I was happy to be back in the house but I was fuming mad. After punishing Cale, Ryan said in his sweetest voice "Mom, I ALWAYS listen to you." He was very proud of himself. We finally got to play group about an hour late. The joys of 3 year olds. For those of you who think you are going through the "terrible 2's" just wait until they turn 3. :)

Miss you Pop

February 19, 1924 - May 1, 2008
Pop,I will miss you so much but it comforts me to know that you are very happy right now in heaven. You have made such an impact in so many lives and this weekend as we said our goodbyes it was proved over and over again. I thank you for teaching me so many valuable lessons in life, marriage, family, and your #1 thing, my faith and relationship with Jesus Christ. I love you and miss you so much.
Your Little Bear
"When Tomorrow Starts Without Me"
When tomorrow starts without me,
And I'm not there to see;
If the sun should rise and find your
Eyes are filled with tears for me,
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
The way you did today....
While thinking of the many
things we didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me,
as much as I love you.
as much as I love you.
and each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too.
But when tomorrow starts without me,
Please try to understand,
That Jesus came and called me
and took my hand.
He said my place was ready
In heaven far above....
And that I'd have to leave behind
All those I dearly love.
So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I'm right there in your heart.
More congrats!
My cousin Dexter is engaged. They have set the date for Feb. 21, 2009, which is my grandparents anniversary. Ryan and Cale are going to be their ring bearers. That should be an adventure. Congrats Dexter and Laurin!
Congrats Pete and Jessica!
PETE AND JESSICA ARE HAVING A BABY!!! We are so excited. The due date is Dec. 12th. The boys say it's going to be a boy and his name will be Little Pete. We'll just have to wait and see. Congrats Stickles!
